Drawing Cars - Hand Sketching Vs 3D Modeling

In the age of computers, virtual reality and 3D modeling, why are hand sketching skills still such a vital part of the car design process?

Hand sketching is still the best way of getting ideas out of the designer's head and onto paper quickly and efficiently. 3D modeling requires manipulating software to get the result that the designer wants. This process is often slow and cumbersome. Manipulating your hand to draw the line you want it to draw is much faster and easier.

To build a 3D model of one concept can take days. To do a hand sketch of one concept can be done in an hour or two. This means many ideas can be explored far more efficiently and less time is invested into each idea. Often when concepts are presented for consideration they are dismissed instantly. If little time has been invested into that concept, then little has been lost.

Even in high end design programs, such as Alias that many automotive designers use, the base drawing is done by hand on a digital tablet. Even though the drawing is done directly onto the computer through the tablet, it is still the designer's hand making the moves. As this is most direct way to bring an idea from inside their head to life.

Remember, computers are just another tool like pencils and markers. If you want to be a car designer, practice your freehand car drawing skills and you will not only produce more concepts but better designs as well.

Tim Rugendyke is a professional transportation designer who has worked at both Ford and General Motors during his 15 years plus in the industry. Tim is also the author of 'How To Draw Cars Fast and Easy' which reveals the insider secrets to get you drawing amazing cars fast and easy...even if you've never drawn a thing in your life before. Discover The Insider Secrets To Drawing Cars Like The Pros Today!

Xbox 360 Shutting Off and Red Lights - How Do I Fix It?

It's a worrying experience, seeing your Xbox 360 shutting off, red lights appearing in the power switch on the front of the console, and your games not working at all. Learn what the causes are of this annoying problem, as well as how you can fix it yourself for the smallest possible investment of time, difficulty and money.

Most of the time, the reason behind your Xbox 360 shutting off will be one of two main things. The most common of these is overheating. As the Xbox 360 is essentially just a powerful gaming computer that has been shrunken down into a smaller case, it produces a large amount of heat when under heavy use (i.e. when gaming) Too much heat builds up too quickly due to a poor heat removal system and few fans and heat sinks. This then causes the 360 to shut off, and display the red lights on the power ring so that you are aware that something rather major has gone wrong.

The other main cause of the red ring problem is that of general hardware failure. Basically, this is where one or more components have simply stopped working properly. Common examples of this include a loose graphics processor, or loose memory chips. Either overheating or hardware failure will result in the same thing- you not being able to use your Xbox 360 until it is fixed.

Whilst it is possible to send your console to Microsoft to have it repaired, the best way to fix the shutting down problem on your Xbox 360 is to repair it yourself. Why? You will save at least $100 if your console has no more warranty left, and you will also save a lot of valuable gaming downtime. If you ship your console to Microsoft for repair, you could be waiting weeks, even months before you get a fully functional console back. Another problem is that you do not get the same Xbox 360 you sent away back, that means that if you happened to have left the hard drive inside, or a disk on the drive, you will not be able to get that back.

An Xbox 360 repair guide is necessary if you wish to fix the red lights yourself. These are collections of videos and written files that outline, step-by-step, how to determine the cause of the problem on your Xbox 360, as well as what you need to do to fix it in a safe, reliable and easy manner. The average price for a repair guide is around $30, and you won't need to spend any more money on top of that for things such as tools - everything you need can be found around the home. Although it is annoying having to pay money to fix your console, which shouldn't even be broken in the first place, it really would be a dumb idea to try and repair the problem yourself. You will risk injury to yourself and damage to your property without a repair guide.

Can Nintendo Make a Nintendo Wee Size System of the Nintendo Wii?

It's a question people have not thought of yet. Can Nintendo honestly make a smaller console system? They can the way they have been evolving. Look at the systems below how they have steadily been evolving in processing power, size, and general features.

Starting with the size of the Original Nintendo Entertainment System (Nes 8-bit). It was a very bulky system with a mess of cords. Still impressive for the first Nintendo Console. What it lacked in looks it made up for with sheer innovative ideas in the games. Nintendo produced thousands of original titles that caught on like wildfire.

Next came the Super Nintendo featuring a sleeker design to follow the Original. It was still bulky in weight and the same mess of cords. But the Super Nintendo had smaller games and a lighter weight compared to the Original. It was still an impressive jump from the 8-bit system to 16-bit system. It still captivated the audience to steadily build a fan base.

When the Nintendo 64 came out there was no real noticeable difference in size from the Super Nintendo and the controllers were the biggest yet. This system was solely to stun the fans with the groundbreaking 64-bit graphics and the same traditional titles. Some games to show the power of the Nintendo 64 were Mario 64 and Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

After the Nintendo 64 the designers were in a competition with Playstation's ideas to make their consoles as compact as possible. That was the birth of the Gamecube. This was the first system to feature a Wireless Controller (Wavebird).

Finally the Wii. It is completely wireless and the size of a 90's lunch box. From the way Nintendo is trying to compete with XBox and Playstation it is to be expected they will keep making more impressive systems with more impressive features. Look at the Ds it has the ability to play Nintendo 64 quality games in a very portable system. Great things to come!

LCD Flat Screen TV - Are 120Hz LCD Flat Screen TVs Worth The Extra Money?

If you have been looking at buying an LCD flat screen tv, no doubt you have read about the 120Hz models. You are probably wondering if the 120Hz models are worth the extra cost. The value of the 120hz feature has been widely debated in recent months. There are a number of things to consider before making your decision.

In the early days of the LCD vs Plasma tv wars, one of the biggest drawbacks to purchasing an LCD tv was that they were prone to motion blur and a somewhat choppy picture, especially in times when there was a lot of fast action such as sports or in movie scenes such as car chases. Although there has been a great deal of improvement over the years in the tvs ability to handle fast motion, LCD is still battling the stigma of not having as smooth of a picture as plasmas.

Enter the 120Hz tv. As a direct response, LCD manufacturers have incorporated 120Hz tvs into their newest tv models. These tvs have refresh rates that are twice as fast as the "standard" 60Hz models.

Those who are supporters of the 120Hz technology claim that the picture is noticeably smoother with crystal clear clarity, especially during fast action scenes or sports. Another benefit is the ability to produce an almost 3D-like picture.

On the other hand, others say that they can't notice a difference when comparing side to side with the "standard" 60Hz models. They feel that the 120Hz models are simply marketing gimmicks to sell higher priced tv.

So who is right? As usual there is a middle ground. Put simply, a 120Hz tv will take a standard 60Hz signal and simply replicate it twice which by itself does little to enhance the picture quality. The real difference is made when applying a video processing feature for motion enhancement. Each company has there own name for this process. For example, Samsung's feature is called AMP for Auto Motion Plus. This feature takes the screen and interpolates the image to provide a smoother picture to reduce judder.

Does the motion enhancement provide a more satisfactory picture? Again this is open to debate. Motion enhancement at its best provides a noticeably smoother, stable picture, free of jutter, motion blur and ghosting. Some describe gaming in 120Hz as making a 30 frames per second game look like a 60 frames per second game, while others are mesmerized by the ability to make sports and movies look live and 3D-like.

At its worst motion enhancement, especially during fast motion can introduce split second glitches in the picture called artifacts which can obviously be distracting. Others feel that while documentary type shows like Planet Earth can provide stunning stable live action shots, that motion enhancement takes away from the cinematic feel of movies by providing an almost too realistic, live tv or soap opera feel instead of a cinematic experience.

It is important to point out that motion enhancement can be turned on or off, so if you prefer to watch a movie without the motion enhancement you can simply turn it off.

For the time being the choice to go with a 120Hz LCD flat screen tv is purely one of personal choice and budget. Keep in mind that this is a very new technology and as with all new technologies there are still some things that need to be perfected. There is little debate that 120Hz is the wave of the future and that technology will only improve over time. If price is not of primary concern or if you can spare the extra dollars in an attempt to future proof your tv purchase then it would seem to make perfect sense to go with the additional features and benefits that a 120Hz LCD flat screen tv can offer. If price is a primary factor and you are working on a limited budget then one of the standard models would be a fine choice until the 120Hz models are perfected.

Virtual Real Worlds

In future work, play, and study will be transformed by the use of 3D models and environments. These environments and models will be created to be as realistic as possible by use of textures and perspectives that will provide the user with a sense of being there.

It has been forecast that these Virtual Worlds will revolutionize the way we shop made to measure will return as clothes will be produced to fit the individual. Virtual 3D museums will contain realistic recreations of the real thing; the great Pyramids, Taj Mahhal, great Wall of China, etc. will be experienced from your front room. A leisurely walk through Englands green and pleasant lands can be experienced with all the sights and sounds as of you were there.

Virtual conferencing will allow the participants to select an environment akin to the subject being discussed.

The latest generation have been exposed to this 3D environment or have experience of it most of their lives; to them it is quite natural and accept the virtual real world concept enthusiastically. They readily accept the possibility of people meeting in an environment of there choosing while being physically somewhere else in the real world; in fact they can't understand why it doesn't exist today.

This is discussed at greater length at web site www.mellanium.com

Ken has spent most of his life working in the aerospace industry. His interest in the Virtual Real World has been born out of a real need to access information easier and less painfully by using 3D models and environments. See http://mellanium.com/ for more information.

Guide to Adobe Reader

Adobe Reader is a software designed to securely view PDF documents. PDF stands for Portable Document Format and its biggest advantage is the fact that it has cross-platform compatibility. You can open a PDF file on a Linux computer, or Windows, or even on your mobile phone if it has Symbian. This format was created in 1993 by Adobe Systems, but because it was hard to make it popular in the beginning, Adobe decided to start releasing Adobe Reader for free, in order to beat the competition of other formats such as Common Ground Digital Paper, Envoy. Nowadays, PDF is the standard for printable documents and its widely used for publishing e-books. PDF has undergone a lot of changes and updates, eight in total, corresponding to the number of Adobe Reader versions, with 8.0 being the latest one.

A PDF file contains vector graphics (for shapes and lines), text and raster graphics (for photos). The latest PDF versions support hyperlinks inside the document, forms, JavaScript and there all types of plug-ins that can extend its functionality even further.

There are several advantages that have contributed to the popularity of PDF. It supports full-text search in the whole file. It produces files with smaller size, so you can upload your files on the Web without worrying about download times. The ability to optimize PDF files is another advantage. The navigation trough the documents is made really easy thanks to the clear interface, more on which you can read in this article.

A great benefit associated with Adobe PDF is the fact that such files look and print exactly as intended across a wide variety of platforms. The Adobe Reader software is free and easy to download from the official website or at http://www.freesecuredownloads.com/acrobat/index.html. Over the past years, it has gained tremendous popularity with more than 200 million downloads. Hence, it's the most effective way of distributing documents to a broad audience across a broad range of operating systems.

An inside look of a PDF file reveals that the structure consists of - header, body, cross-reference table, and trailer. The header holds the version of PDF. The body is the document itself with all objects that carry information, like fonts, images, words, etc. The cross-reference table is filled with pointers to all the objects in the PDF file. The trailer contains pointers to the xref table and to key objects contained in the trailer dictionary.

In order to create PDF files, you need Adobe Reader, but if you don't want to spend money on this software, you can download PDF creation program, and there are plenty of them available online. Adobe Acrobat though, is the most comprehensive tool allowing a single user to create and interact with PDFs. You can create files by scanning paper documents, which the software will renter as text, so you will be able to search trough it, or even edit it. Digital source of information are also an option. The paper-to-digital conversion is made possible with Adobe Capture, available in Personal or cluster Edition.

1. Navigating in Adobe Reader

To make the most out of this software, you need to get familiar with all its capabilities and interface. There is so much more than what you see at first glance.

Adobe Reader is available as a standalone application or it could be opened inside a browser window, but either way, the interface is almost the same. It consists of a document pane at the center that displays PDFs, and a navigation pane on the left holding buttons that allow you to navigate through the document.

-Creating PDF files:

As mentioned, there are different methods of actually creating PDF files, one of which is available through the Reader. Just go in the File menu Create Adobe PDF Online. Your IE browser will open http://createpdf.adobe.com. You must register for an account in order to use this service. Once logged in, click on Convert to Adobe PDF and browse to select the file on your local computer. Select the desired options and press Create PDF.

-Dealing with Toolbars:

First check if the Toolbars are unlocked by right-clicking on the main toolbar on top and see if the option Lock Toolbars is unchecked. You can move toolbars from side to side, you can choose which ones you like to hide or show and if you select the More Tools option, you will be given a list of all the available toolbars.

-Changing the View:

To change the navigation pane view, click one of the buttons to the left of the navigation pane. If you want to customize the display colors for page background and document text, choose Edit > Preferences > Accessibility. To set the default zoom level and page layout, choose Edit > Preferences > Page Display.

You can switch between Reading Mode and Full Screen Mode, available in the View menu. In Full Screen Mode, all toolbars are hidden, Adobe Reader fills the whole screen, so that you can focus easily on the content. In Reading Mode, the navigation pane and toolbars are hidden, just the menu bar is present.

-Updating Adobe Reader:

Adobe Reader can be updated in various ways. The update process can be automatically triggered by a specific PDF file, for example, one that contains unknown language fonts, then the Reader will as you whether you want to download the fonts. You can choose to make the updates manually by selecting the last option in the Help menu - Check for updates. This feature will connect to the central Adobe server and see if any new components are available. If that's the case, you will be given a list of the updates that are about to be installed, but once again, manual confirmation is required.

If you want to set automatic updates, go to Help > Check For Updates, in the Adobe Updater window, click Preferences and select Automatically Check For Adobe Updates. The last thing to do is specify whether you want weekly or monthly updates.

2. Working with PDF files in Adobe Reader

Adobe Reader provides users with plenty of different ways to manipulate PDF files. Of course, it allows you to view them, save them in PDF or in text format, or search the entire content of a file.

We all know that a search is performed by clicking on Find in the Edit menu, or Ctrl+F. This is all good, but if you want to search all PDFs in a given folder, press Edit > Search and select All PDF Documents in.

Should you want to convert a PDF file into a text document, go File > Save as Text, and the file will be saved with .txt extension. No content will be lost except for the images.

To use portions of the PDF content in other files, you can Copy and Paste the selected text. In case the Cut, Copy and Paste commands are not available, this means that the author of the document has set restrictions against copying the text.

Copy and Paste functions are not applicable just plain text, but for images as well. Using the Select Tool, draw a rectangle surrounding the given image, right click and select Copy.

3. Movies, Sounds and 3D models in PDF

PDF is a very rich format and it can include various multimedia features, like video clips, digital audio, and even 3D models that can readers can move, zoom in/out and examine piece by piece.

The main multimedia formats that can be embedded are Flash, MPEG, MP3, QuickTime and Windows Media files. The activation of such content requires the reader's approval in order to prevent playing multimedia from unverified sources. To change this default behavior of Adobe Reader, go into the Preference menu > Multimedia Trust and check the permissions.

To add 3D models inside your PDF file, you need Adobe 3D, which supports a variety of three dimensional file formats. You can even embed 3D CAD models. User interaction with such file types is simple. Just click on the 3D model with the Hand or Select Tool to activate it. The 3D toolbar will open up and the animation will be played.

4. Working with PDF forms

Adobe PDF forms are basically a computerized version of a paper form, which the user must fill out and send over via email, CD or publish it on a website. PDF forms are especially useful for ebooks, so that readers can test their knowledge by answering a test (in a PDF form), which is then send to a server so that results can be estimated.

-Types of Forms:

PDF forms can be quite simple, just consisting of blank fields or they can be interactive. The interactive ones are designed to be submitted on the Internet. The Form type is determined by the method of distribution. The following types are available:

-Fill-in & Print forms the user enters text in static fields, saves the PDF file and then prints it out

- Submit-by-email - such forms contain a button which sends just the data inputted by the user, attaching the complete PDF from into an email message

- Submit-online PDF forms - all data is send to a server for further processing. This option is only available when the Adobe Reader is open in Web-based mode.

To send the data you have entered in a PDF form, press the Submit button.

For a secure download of Adobe Reader, free of any spyware and adware, visit http://www.freesecuredownloads.com/acrobat/index.html.

The Best Electric Razor I've Ever Used - The Philips Norelco 1050CC Arcitec Men's Shaving System

The Philips Norelco 1050CC Arcitec razor is fantastic. This is the first time I ever enjoyed shaving. Important Background Information before you read the rest of this review: I have used Norelco Electric razors for the past 20 years. I can not & will not use a blade razor as they cut and irritate my skin and I can't be half asleep using them! I've always used Norelco Electric razors because they've been fairly comfortable on my skin.

Please note that I shave myself the following way as I refuse to shave dry: Over the sink, I first splash lukewarm to warm water on my face then splash Williams Lectric (preElectric) Shave on my face then splash water once again on my face and then put my electric razor head under the water faucet for a second or two and then shave. That whole process takes just a few seconds & serves to lubricate my skin. I mention this because if you don't care for the way I shave, you might not get the same results shaving dry.

Specifically, I can not shave dry as it irritates my skin no matter what BS any Electric Razor Company including Norelco says and I get lousy dry shaves! Norelco says you are suppose to shave dry with this razor. I don't and get great results and that's all I care about. I've used this razor for about 10 months and I haven't had any problems, whatsoever. If somehow shaving this way eventually wears this razor down faster then it would shaving dry, big deal, I'll just get another one as I don't mind paying for comfort!

ANYWAY TO GET TO THE REVIEW YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR: After I fully charged the Philips Norelco 1050CC Arcitec Razor the first time, I was initially very skeptical & puzzled as I did not see any controls to adjust the razor for sensitive or normal skin. The fact is there aren't any which seems nuts. However, when I shaved I was in ecstasy as it was the fastest and most comfortable shave I've ever had. It felt like I was using a paint brush to go up & down- it was that smooth. I don't have the foggiest idea how or why it was this comfortably smooth & fast. The shave was pretty close too- not 100% perfect but as good as I've ever gotten with an electric razor including under my chin and on my neckline.

I'm not going to lie to you though, I've always had problems shaving under my chin and on my neckline, and while I can shave more hairs off this area then ever before with the Norelco Arcitec 1050cc and its non-irritating, there are still hairs I can't get off. I don't know if there is an electric razor in existence that can shave all the hair off this area without irritating your skin! So right now I'm saying if you want the fastest and most comfortable shave you ever had with decent results, get this razor or a razor in the Norelco Arcitec series.

Apparently from what I can gather, all the razors in this series are basically the same with different non-shaving features (i.e., color scheme, extra leds, razor cleaner, etc). This razor comes with an automatic cleaning system which is incredibly easy, works great and I use daily. You just put in the specific Norelco solution which will last 2-3 weeks & easily rest your Razor on the Jet Cleaner, push on the button & your razor is cleaned each day. It's almost fun to watch. I salute you, Norelco.

A great place to purchase electric razors at discount prices including the Norelco Arcitec 1050cc Electric Razor System is http://www.OrderItDiscount.com which I recommend. This website offers discounts on beauty and personal hair care products, electronics, computers and more.

Step Aside Tamagotchi, Here Comes Machicara!

You might remember that many years ago in 1996 there was something called Tamagotchi which took the world by storm. It was the first cyber pet to be introduced to the world and came in the form of an electronic device with a simple LCD screen and a few buttons to manipulate with.

The goal was to take good care of your Tamagotchi pet so that it grew up to be bigger, healthier and more beautiful. Neglecting it would result in it turning mean and ugly.

A world wide hit with millions of units sold worldwide and hundreds of licensed products under its belt, Tamagotchi sparked off a whole following of virtual pets after its launch. Many other variations were spawned and later even Sony came up with its own version in the form of Aibo - the robot dog.

One interesting thing to note is that most of these virtual pets hailed from the island of Japan . It might be because of the fact that the Japanese are incredibly lonely individuals and had a need to fulfill something within the missing bits of their lives, but that's another topic altogether.

In February 2008, a mobile phone middleware development company called Hi Corporation from Japan launched another interesting 'virtual pet' product called the Machicara. Running on a proprietary 3D engine platform called the Mascot Capsule, Machicara allows 3D rendered characters to 'live' in mobile handsets and perform tasks like announcing the arrivals of phone calls, text messages, upcoming events and the like. There are about 36 event-triggered animations the characters perform. Otherwise they just amble about doing random stuff.

The first mobile phone company to embed Machicara within their mobile phones is Sharp. Japan 's mobile service giant operator NTT DoCoMo provides the downloading infrastructure and backend support. Singapore animation companies Mediafreaks Cartoon and Character Farm have licensed their cartoon characters to Hi Corporation and Sharp in this collaboration.

There are talks that this would be the next big hit in Japan 's virtual pets community, with mobile phones being an essential tool of their lives and the fact that all Japanese girls love ultra cute stuff.

Let's keep our eyes peeled to see if Machicara stands up to its expectations.

If you Google for 'Singapore Cartoon Characters' you should be able to read a press release of the above collaboration.

This article was contributed by Aldric Chang - a creative businessman who is active in music composing and production, internet marketing, casual games production, animation production, cartoon production and character licensing. He's currently intent on growing his already successful 3D animation company - Mediafreaks - into a behemoth entertainment company.

Play Tetris Nintendo NES Game Online Free Right Now

Tetris is very innovative puzzle game that involves making lines with falling pieces. It was designed and programed by Alexey Pajitnov in Moscow, Russia. That also explains the crazy Russian music. But why did it become such a groundbreaking game?

That is because Nintendo and Tengen (Atari) were fighting for the rights to it. That was settled in that Nintendo got rights to console and handheld systems. Tengen got rights to Arcade Systems. Tetris was also the first original Gameboy game. So the phenomenon of Tetris were spreading like wildfire.

Nintendo kept putting out Tetris titles for their future systems which spread the legacy to the next generation of gamers. Today though since the Original Tetris and Nintendo became rarer to find it was looked for more online.

It is not difficult to find online but some websites follow the traditional Tetris ideas and themes better. On a rare occurrence you might be able to find a copy of Tengen Tetris which is the rarest Nintendo game ever created. That is due to copyright infringement with Nintendo's rights.

The game itself was popular because of the falling pieces to different handicaps and speeds. Also in some versions of Tetris the ability to play multi-player. The game was challenging to everyone regardless of age. The theme of the game gets repetitive after awhile so you can not play days on end. Besides that the game is overall a groundbreaking game in video game history.

So the reason to play Tetris can be summed up simply. It was the first truly groundbreaking puzzle game for the original Nintendo NES, Gameboy, and Tengen Arcade Machines.

Time Management Techniques - 5 Steps For Power-Planning Big Projects To Fit Your Time

"If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend the first four sharpening the axe."
Abraham Lincoln

Finding time depends on Power-Planning. Power-Planning sharpens your capabilities by developing your focus. The bigger the project, the more time you save by planning ahead. Here's a quick guide that will facilitate your process.

Power-Planning Projects in 5 Quick Steps:

Ask yourself these questions & write down the answers:

  1. What items do you need on hand to get the job done?

Include what you need to remain comfortable and focused, so that you aren't constantly getting up for something you forgot. Create a base list you can reuse with modifications. When you gather the needed items beforehand, see if you can create a "kit" for supplies you can store together for easy retrieval.

  2. What online sites help you shop quickly for good value and quick delivery?

Dedicate a file in your browser for each big job. In your file, bookmark the best sites for future reference.

  3. What steps can you break the project into?

In your final breakdown of steps, separate activities into chunks that you can accomplish during a single work session. Include time for:

    * Preparing your workspace.

    * Breaks for stretching or something to eat or drink.

    * Cleaning up afterwards,

    * Reviewing your progress

    * Revising future steps, if needed, and

    * Outlining next day's tasks.

  4. How can you group activities to save time?

Brainstorm your list. Some items to consider are location, time of day, interruptions, making phone calls and gathering information.

  5. What's my top priority? What comes next?

As you assign priorities, have a calendar nearby to coordinate your action steps with your current commitments. When in doubt, schedule twice as much time as you think you'll need, and develop a contingency plan for using any pockets of free time that develop.

Great! Now you are ready to launch your project.

What is your next step in Power-Planning your day and finding quality time?

You will find expert guidance quickly with our free, twice-weekly Finding Time Tips. You are invited to sign up at http://www.findingtime.net/ezine.html

Printable Tree Diagram Software Tools

Before we go into printable tree diagram, let us first have a brief look at what a tree diagram is. Tree diagrams are basically graphics, which represent a structure like a tree, with the components in the diagram having logical relation between them. The tree trunk of the diagram is the main topic of the application, and the facts, factors, influences, traits, people, or outcomes of the topic are represented by the branches. In sorting items or needing to classify them, you would use the benefits of tree diagrams. The typical tree diagram is a like a family tree diagram. The others are, for example, cladistic trees used in biological classification, and dichotomous keys, used to determine what group a specimen belongs to in biology.

These tree diagrams use terminologies which are a mixture of names from the botanical and genealogical terms. Printable tree diagrams are those graphic documents, which have been derived from analysis of problem situations in business operations. Such diagrams can also be produced when you sort items or classify them. Tree diagram appears to be just like a tree, with branches branching out in every direction, looking very much like the family trees that we know of.

Statistical tree diagrams are also printable tree diagrams, and are shaped in the form of a tree, where the dataset is derived from a Cluster, in which the Hierarchical clustering is produced by the Clusters in shape of a tree. When you use tree diagram, the diagram tree has its roots at the top, with the clusters as branches, the heights of which are determined by the numerical value in the output dataset.

A probability tree diagram is used mostly used in mathematical environment, the documents of which can also be printed out as in printable tree diagrams. This tree diagram is used for determining definite results on probabilities on specific probability nested matters. Tree diagram also has a role in physics. A classical tree diagram would depict results obtained from physics problems in which the effects of quantum mechanics are ignored. To create a tree diagram one would not need to perform any integrals to calculate the diagram parameters. Tree diagram has also been used linguistic applications, where it has been used to visually represent the structure of a sentence, a syllable, or phonological feature geometry. Tree diagrams are also used in situations, where you need to judge the validity of critical data. The diagram is also utilised to examine the relevance of the various expression profiles found in Clusters. You can find more information on tree diagram software at http://www.decisiontreediagram.com

Printable tree diagram is a tool, with which it is possible to create great looking diagrams of the types, tree diagrams, fishbone diagrams, charts, maps, illustrations and more. You will find practically all your applications meeting the features presented in tree diagrams. It is suggested that when you buy a package of the software, you should first have a look at the features that you want. Tree diagrams are expensive and you would not want to buy a package with features that you do not need.

Structural Drawing: What It Is and How Its Evolving

Structural engineers use engineering formulas relating to material properties and physics to design structures which will withstand all the forces the structures may be subject to. Examples of such forces are gravity, wind shear, stresses due to aging of materials and seismic vibration.

Structural drawings are part of the language the same structural engineers use to communicate with contractors, fabricators and regulatory bodies. These drawings describe the details of an objects supporting members, such as beams and columns, which are designed by the structural engineer.

Structural drawings are crucial in the construction of buildings, tunnels, ships, aircraft, oil drilling platforms, bridges, retaining walls, mines, infrastructure projects, automobiles and any other object subject to significant forces.

Examples of elements described in structural drawings are beams, columns, trusses, roof framing, braces, steel connections, concrete footings, pile foundations, metal decking, joists, stairs and handrails.

Structural drawings are executed by structural draftsmen. Structural draftsmen typically work under the structural engineer responsible for the structural design. Skilled structural draftsmen convert the engineers sketches into CAD drawings, and also check that the designs conform to the relevant statutes and building codes.

In addition they compile material takeoffs and are responsible for keeping records of all drawings produced and transmitted downstream.

During the later half of the twentieth century, structural drawings were created on the computer using specialized software. This software created two-dimensional (2D) images of structures; conceptualizing the actual object in its real, three-dimensional (3D) form took place only in the mind. This called for highly developed spatial conceptualization abilities on the part of the concerned individuals.

But the twenty-first century saw the emergence of advanced 3D software tools for structural drafting. These tools enable draftsmen to instantaneously create a 3D element (such as an I-beam) by merely entering its dimensions. Subsequently, on the screen, the element can moved, rotated and joined with other elements just as it would be in the real world.

Once an entire object has been thus drawn from 3D elements, the software automatically creates a bill of materials, and if costs are put in by the draftsman, an itemized estimate is also output.

All this translates to shorter turnaround times for the production of drawings and more accuracy in the drawing itself.

Since the time structural drawings were created on computers, they were stored in electronic form. With advances in network communication, paperless transmission of drawings from one node in a network to another became possible. The network now encircles the world (as the Internet) and structural drawings are transmitted between countries quickly and easily.

Using additional collaboration software, structural drawings are now created by teams separated by thousands of miles, faster, more accurately and with more creative input than at any time in human history. No wonder a structure can be designed in the US, drawn in India and built in the Middle East!

Photography Poses - The Missing Ingredient

You've read all the "best digital camera" articles, got the best price on your first digital camera, and even glanced at its owner's manual. Are you itching to take some shots of your family, or what?

Slow down, soldier. Before you take 200 shots that seem great at the time, but then upon review of the final picture are less than what you expected, let's prepare. Prepare?!?! I'll bet you thought charging the battery was the hardest part of taking great photos, didn't you? Sorry to disappoint you, but if you want to improve your photo results 50% in 2 minutes, let's review some basic advice of the pros.

There are two categories of GENERAL ADVICE which applies, regardless of whether you're using a digital camera to take family portrait poses, baby pictures, pet portraits, group pictures, funny photos, or even maternity portraits. The first category is...

"Good Planning" Advice for Photography Poses

1) Prepare For The Event

Prepare for the event by thinking about every photograph you want to take and what kind of photography pose or poses you would like to capture. Consider who, where, how, and the type of environment.

2) Take Multiple Photographs

Take multiple shots of each pose (remember, digital memory is reusable, a.k.a. "free"). Regardless of what you say or do, people will blink. And don't count on spotting small problems on the tiny camera LCD screen (even on full magnification); which leads to...

3) Check LCD Screen

Check the digital camera's LCD screen for general framing of the picture, any movement, visibility of faces, and the histogram. Note that you can think up a fantastic photography pose; arrange everyone perfectly; and, have the photograph "frozen" (no blinking, and no shaking of the camera)...but, when you check it out in the LCD, you see 2 drunks fighting in the background! And, my favorite...

4) Funny Phrases

Have some funny phrases handy to use just before you take the photo. Don't use it when setting up for the shot. And, don't use the same phrase all the time. Throw in funny anecdotes, phrases, names, words that you know your family will find more amusing than "cheese." A natural smile looks four times better than a fake one. The second category is...

"Location" Advice for Photography Poses

Taking indoor family photography, is very different than outdoor family photograph (duh!). For INDOOR pictures...

1) Wide Angle

You will tend to use the wide angle more often than your telephoto setting. Pay particular attention to your "end people" (those farthest to the right and the left in your viewfinder), and verify there is enough space in picture, so that if cropping is required, the end people don't have to lose a limb.

2) The Flash

Flash considerations are critical. Do not be outside your "flash range." For example, if at ISO 100, your flash can properly illuminate 12 feet, don't attempt any photography pose that requires anyone to stand at 14 feet (unless, of course, it's evil cousin Ira who you want to appear in darkness).

3) Plan "B"

If you need to be further away than your flash allows, here are 2 things you can try...First, increase the ISO setting (but not so much as to produce to much noise), or second, move to a significantly brighter location.

4) Watch Your Background

If there are distracting features, change your settings to blur the background (see the Techniques page). The best photography pose in the world won't look right with a distracting background. And finally...

5) Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall

If there are mirrors or reflective surfaces in the background and you can't find a different location, only take the picture in such a way that the flash is not perpendicularto the surface, but at an angle (unless you want a nice photo of your flash).

Outdoor family photography has completely different issues. For OUTDOOR photography...

6) The Sun

Avoid photographing in direct sunlight, or in mixed light and shade, especially faces. Optimal lighting results from a slightly overcast sky.

7) Shade

When photographing in shade, use fill-flash (see terms) when necessary. And, really finally...

8) Beauty

If practical, take the picture at one of the beautiful natural settings near you. Imagine the result of a creative photography pose captured in a stunning environment. Can you say: "Over the mantle!"?

The Basics of Digital Camera Care

Your digital camera is an expensive and sophisticated possession. It is a long-term investment and hence, worth protecting. This delicate gadget needs special care and attention at all times for better performance. Though most of us know the importance of taking care of a digital camera, barely anyone go for the safe and proper way to do that. Everyone knows that the camera body and lens should be handled with care as they are prone to damage and scratches. But few people know that there are also some other aspects that are critical to the digital camera care. Just put in some efforts and follow some basic tips and make your precious camera perform efficiently for years.

Camera Lens:

Lens is the most important part of your digital camera; it is the window towards the outside world. A small scratch or spot on the lens will destroy the whole picture. Hence, care should be taken to keep it clean but not by touching with the fingers directly. If there is any dust, first try to blow it up, if it is still there wipe it with a soft lens cleaning tissue or you can use a lens brush or lens blower. You can even find lens cleaners specifically meant for digital camera. Do not forget to cover the lens while the digital camera is not in use.

Delicate Parts of the Camera:

Memory card is one of the most delicate components of your digital camera. You may find CompactFlash, SD or MMC cards in your camera. They are small and play a vital role while taking snaps. The other delicate part of your digital camera is camera panel. You need to handle all these delicate components carefully.

Battery:

Taking care of the batteries also comes under digital camera care. Getting the right kind of battery will enhance the performance of the digital camera. Clean the battery component and remove the batteries while the camera is not in use for long time.

Storage:

Another important thing is to turn off the camera while you are not using it. The care of a digital camera also depends on how you are storing it. Make sure that you are keeping it away from any kind of magnet. Magnet in any form may affect the circuitry of the digital camera. It is also essential to store your camera against condensation. Put the silica gel capsules in the storage box of your digital camera to prevent condensation. If you are storing your digital camera for a long duration, there could be corrosive leaks from the battery over the time. You can take the batteries out of the camera in such case. Temperature is one important aspect of consideration while storing camera. Keep your camera away from extremely cold or hot temperature.

Travelling:

We prefer to store each and every memory of our holiday trip or any other trip. Photographs are the best way to preserve the memory for a life time. Everyone likes to take the camera so that they can capture every single moment worth remember. A delicate device like digital camera should be taken care of properly while travelling. Take a digital camera case with you in your trips. It is safer and can protect your camera from scratches. Security is the main concern. Remember to insure your digital camera as the chances of robbery increases when you are travelling.

Your digital camera is a real treasure as it costs a lot of money. Taking care is something that you ca not avoid if you want to use it for a years. Apply every single tip you know to take care of your camera and keep its performance intact for ever.
